About Us

Cog Yarns began in 2016 in Regina, Saskatchewan as a part-time creative outlet. I had been knitting regularly for a few years, had discovered hand-dyed yarn, and wanted to learn how it was made. So I bought a few bare skeins, a couple dyes, an old pot from a second-hand store, and experimented. It was so much fun that I bought more bare yarn and more dye, and before I knew it I had more dyed yarn than I knew what to do with. After creating a few colourways consistently, I decided to open Cog Yarns. It is now my full-time career, and I love that I get to play with yarn every day.
